SecurePay helps merchants of all sorts to process without having to purchase expensive equipment. One of those types of merchants is known as a MoTo or Mail Order / Telephone Order Account. SecurePay was designed for 3 different types of merchant accounts, more specifically, a type of transaction. That type of transaction is widely known as "Card Not Present" type of transaction.
Yes, SecurePay can process swipe transactions, but the primary purpose is to process eCommerce and MoTo transactions.
MoTo Merchant Accounts do cost more on a per transaction basis, but that cost will also depend on the business circumstances, volume of transactions and dollar volume coming in. Utilizing SecurePay with your MoTo Merchant Account is very simple and actually gives you the most control over the Gateway.
If you want to process credit cards for Internet, telephone, or mail order transactions, you'll need a merchant account specifically designed for that purpose. Why? Because you never take physical possession of a credit card so that you can swipe it through a magnetic strip reader, or processing terminal. different cards use different criteria for evaluating risk and have different fee structures for card-not-present transactions. |
