The AMG SecurePay Customer Vault is one of the best and favorite features of AMG SecurePay. The Customer Vault is a powerful tool with many uses. The Customer Vault allows merchants to store customer payment data and perform subsequent transactions against that data without having to store the data in the merchants unprotected and non PCI compliant system. This gives you a convenient way for your clients to pay their open invoices and bills to your company all while remaining within the PCI Guidelines. This allows:
- Merchants to perform re-bills against previously used billing information.
- Merchants do not have to store card holder data, satisfying many of the PCI requirements.
- Merchants can create “one click” shopping experiences on their website.
- Merchants can easily add, edit, update customers in the vault through the gateway interface,
or through the API
- Reduced data entry for both merchants and consumers.
- Supports both ACH and Credit Card transactions.
Companies that spend millions of dollars on security upgrades to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data get breached. Using AMG SecurePay’s Vault, merchants can remotely store all credit card and any other sensitive data in a Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant environment. If the data is not present in the merchant environment, there is nothing to be stolen.
Merchants still retain full usability and control over the credit card data to initiate recurring billing transactions and manage reporting and reconciliation. Advanced user options give merchants the ability to either see the full 15 or 16 digit credit card number in the Control Panel and API or limit access to masked data only.


These programs allow cardholders to sign up at their issuing bank’s website and create a password to be used for online transactions. Once enrolled, when buying items online, cardholders will be prompted to enter their password prior to completing the transaction – but only if the merchant has previously enrolled in the programs. They were designed to be a consumer’s digital signature and help curb fraud losses. The key benefits to merchants include 1) 100% chargeback protection and 2) Qualification for lower interchange rates.
How it works for merchants
Once a merchant is enrolled in the programs, merchants can choose one of two implementation approaches with us:
- Option #1 – Universal Attempts for Maximum Chargeback Protection
Our unique processing technology does an automatic attempt with Visa and MasterCard on every transaction. If the card is enrolled, we automatically provide an entry screen for the customer to enter their PIN and validate. If the financial institution that issued the card is enrolled in the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode programs, but the cardholder is not yet signed up, we provide an entry screen giving the cardholder the opportunity to enroll.
The key benefit to this approach: By even attempting to use Verified by Visa, regardless if the customer is enrolled, Visa will provide 100% chargeback protection against that transaction.
- Option #2 – Select Attempts for Less Chargeback Protection
Merchants can choose to only process transactions via Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode when the customer is enrolled and selects that payment method. With this approach, cardholders that are not enrolled will not be given the opportunity to sign up, which some merchants find to be less intrusive during the checkout process. The drawback of not attempting is that Visa will not provide the 100% chargeback protection for that transaction.

To begin Certification for PCI Compliance with your AMG SecurePay account, merchants simply need to select the CertifyPCI™ link in their Merchant Portal and complete the questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of about 20 to 30 questions regarding your credit card processing. So long as these questions are answered within the PCI Compliance guidelines than you will become Certified.
