Merchant Features - Custom Fields & Reports / Merchant Defined Fields [MDF's]
Once of the best features, of AMG SecurePay, has the be the ability for merchants to customize their gateway in the aspect of Fields & Reporting, we call it Merchant Defined Fields. Merchant Defined Fields can be found in the Options menu of the gateway.
The merchant will first need to decide what information they would like on the gateway on top of what is provided already. Merchants have up to 20 fields to be able to customize to their liking. Also, these fields are not limited to one type of field. Merchant's can choose from Text Fields, Drop Down Menu's, Check Boxes and Radio Buttons.
With Radio Dial Buttons as well as the Drop-Down Menu you can create sub-categories for a user to select from. No matter how many you enter into either one of these field types, the amount of MDF's will not change. In other words no matter how many sub-categories you have, you will not lose any additional MDF's. On the other hand, each Check Box created is considered one Merchant Defined Field. Check Boxes do no have sub-categories that can be listed under one category
Once all of your MDF's have been created you can see them in action by selecting the Sale link under any Payments Section [Credit Cards or Electronic Checks]. You will find that everything should work to your liking.
After your MDF's have been created you will begin to notice that the fields you have created start appearing just about everywhere in your Merchant Interface, including the Reports Sections. Immediatley after your MDF's are created you can filter your transaction reports by the MDF's you have created. Both sections of the Reports section accomidate your MDF's.
Merchant Defined Fields can also be found on QuickClick, AMG SecurePay's Integrated Shopping Cart System. If you decide to use QuickClick you may use your MDF's with it as well. You may make them REQUIRED, OPTIONAL, or HIDDEN within QuickClick.
Lastly, after setting up your Merchant Defined Fields, you may contact AMG SecurePay to let us know that you would like some or all of your MDF's REQUIRED for each Virtual Terminal transaction. If you wish for them to be required with QuickClick, you will need to setup QuickClick to do so. Also, if you are utilizing a Third Party Shopping Cart and wish to use the MDF's, you will need to consult your developer about doing so.
